Framing & Mounting

Shadia Sabagh’s Artworks can be framed so that your art arrives ready to hang. Framing is available at an additional cost, if the piece is not already framed. Framing choices can be discussed prior to finalizing order.

Thin Gallery Frame

This modern frame profile was designed for artists and photographers. Narrow on the front and deep on the sides, our slim moldings provide a clean frame for your art. Framing in this way allows all the focus to remain on your artwork.

The frame size of works smaller than 24" x 36" have a 3/4" face and 1.25" depth. The frame size of works 24" x 36"or larger have a 1" face and a 2" depth.

UV - Protective Acrylic

Our acrylic is more expensive than glass, as it is clearer, more impact resistant, and protects your art against UV rays. Framing-grade acrylic has become a new standard in framing.

Full Bleed

Works are framed flush with the edge of your print, without a mat. This means there is no space between the image and the frame. When we frame pieces full bleed, we also make sure that the artwork is framed with spacers, meaning it is set back a bit deeper behind the acrylic.

Mat

Matting an artwork adds a 3" white core mat with a bevel cut opening to the edge of your print. If your work has a signature or edition numbering, we will automatically mat around it unless otherwise specified.

We use 4-ply, conservation-grade, acid-free mat board and we match whites and off-whites to your exact piece. Acid-free materials protect your art from yellowing or becoming brittle.

Float

Floating a piece allows for a full view of the face and sides of the artwork. Floating is recommended for original drawings and paintings or any piece produced on specially trimmed paper (a deckled edge, for example).

When a piece is floated, it is raised and hinged with a 1.5" space around it, unless otherwise specified, and then framed. Spacers are included in this method of framing, which sets the piece back behind the acrylic. Floating adds 1.5" to each side of any given piece.
